Pros for the DeWalt 6 Gallon Pancake Compressor:

• The noise level associated to this compressor is one of the best we have come across – certainly very bearable when compared elsewhere (75.5 dBA noise)
• Includes a reliable motor which starts well in cold conditions or with the extension cord application
• You also have the option of buying this with the nailer kit which generally is priced around the $220 to $280 range in the same package
• You get 2.6 SCFM delivered at 90 PSI pump and it offers a 165 maximum PSI providing longer tool time and it is also an oil free pump for maintenance free operations.
• There are 2 universal couplers allowing 2 users, a protective covering which is easy to remove and included also is the ball drain valve for quick & thorough tank draining which works very well
• There is also the 12 month warranty provided for security and peace of mind if you decide to buy

Cons for the DeWalt 6 Gallon Pancake Compressor:

• You always need to ensure that it is situated at least 12 inches away from an obstructions or walls that may interfere with air flows
• You always need to ensure that the drain valve is always closed properly before you start using this compressor
• While not experienced by ourselves, there are several reports of air leakages from the enclosed pump area and air leaks from the hose fittings which have caused numerous problems and returns which us very unusual from a brand as strong as this.

Conclusion:

This is without a doubt an excellent tool but unfortunately it is far from perfect from the amount of people we see complaining about air leaks with it. You may even have to go down the road of adjusting the valves, bearings and hose fittings yourself to ensure that they are rock solid to avoid air leakages. Despite these air leak complaints, we found that the noise level generated was certainly a whole lot better than many others and there is no need to operate the break in procedure for this particular model like you do for other compressors.

As we did not experience these air leaks ourselves, we can stand over this review and state that we found it to be a high quality, well-built compressor machine for doing various smaller projects around the home or jobsite and is certainly worth the level of money that you need to pay for it.
